USPS Mailbox

On October 31st, 2024, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced approval of a modification to the Opioid Analgesic Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (OA REMS), advancing a consumer mail back drug disposal option. The modification will require that manufacturers participating in the OA REMS Program will have to begin providing pre-paid drug mail back envelopes upon request to outpatient and community pharmacies and other dispensers of opioid analgesics by March 31, 2025.

The modification in OA REMS will only require manufacturers to make mail back envelopes available to outpatient and community pharmacies upon request.

DisposeRx has developed a comprehensive strategic solution requiring minimal effort and cost while attaining maximum benefit for the manufacturer.

The result will ensure that patients have access to opioid analgesics in their pain management regimen and are educated about available methods to safely dispose of unused medications.
